I’m Greg Tremblay, professional storyteller, creative tinkerer, lifelong sailor, and adventurer. These are the logs of my adventures as I revisit my childhood sailing the coast of Maine, the US Atlantic, and the Bahamas

Welcome to “Selkie” my 1979 Pearson 10 meter sailboat. Join the two of us, our guests, and the friends we meet along the way as I renovate and update the boat, gear up for voyaging, and ultimately set off to chase a legacy of 40 years ago.

1. You live on a BOAT?

Well, part time! I also have space ashore in New England where I have a recording booth and workshop space. For the past several years I’ve been sailing in the summertime and putting Selkie up on land in the winter.

3. Have you ever been in danger?

The ocean is an amazing place, truely awesome in all senses of the word. I’ve been in danger of one sort or another every moment on the water… but we also are on land!

2. How did you learn to DO all this??

I grew up on boats – in fact that’s part of what this adventure is all about! My family sailed from Maine to the Bahamas for a year when I was 9 (turning 10) and after that I worked on Whale Watches, and pleasure boats, and have owned several sailboats. As to how I learned all the DIY and repair work… I’ve had to teach myself via books, videos, and helpful friends and strangers. As I told one neighbor at the boat yard “I know how to do all this stuff because I’m not rich and I own a 46 year old boat!”

4. You SLEEP on the boat? Aren’t you afraid of SHARKS?!

Sharks are actually really cool, and I love seeing them from time to time!
I prefer not to see big ones from IN the water, I grant you!

But, sleeping aboard is the least dangerous place in terms of sharks. (Jaws, was taking pretty serious liberties with reality)
